For the Avantor Euro Sales Conference 2025 (Lisbon), the company partnered with the Portuguese Red Cross and other charities to use this event for a very visible goal in Corporate Social Responsibility: the conference attendants would play the central role in manufacturing & deploying a Guinness World Record for Social Service Initiative by creating in one day the largest row of hygiene kits put together for disadvantaged/poor children.
The only problem: nobody filmed this process, the only available footage was a GoPro timelapse showing the centralizing and numbering of the kits by the Guinness officials.
Basically I had nothing to work with, yet a video was badly needed for the announcement.
The only available solution was to combine photos from the event with the timelapse. Using the KenBurns zoom-in effect (created by editor Ken Burn for National Geographic), I was able to create an animated photo slideshow that fit in well with the timelapse. Together with some transitions, I was able to produce a video that was used internally and externally, on all channels.
Receiving a Guiness’ World Records title is something out of the ordinary, it must be properly shown, and sometimes you have to improvise a lot to create a good accompanying piece of media for it.
